DFDS is an international shipping and ferry company with a leading presence across Northern Europe. Founded in 1866 and headquartered in Copenhagen, DFDS has provided passenger ferry services for more than 140 years and operates one of the largest ferry networks in the region.
Objective
Our objective was to promote DFDS Seaways to the Polish community in the UK and increase brand visibility among a key audience for its passenger ferry services.
Campaign
2Sisters PR worked with DFDS on a five-year retainer, supporting the brand with community-focused marketing and PR activity aimed at Polish audiences in the UK.
Our work included securing sponsorship opportunities, developing marketing ideas, supporting social media content, managing translations, coordinating leaflet distribution, planning grassroots marketing activities and helping the brand connect with the community in a direct and relevant way.
As part of this work, we secured a major sponsorship opportunity for DFDS at the biggest Polish outdoor festival in the UK, placing the brand directly in front of thousands of people from its target audience.
Results
The sponsored event attracted around 10,000 people, giving DFDS the opportunity to engage directly with the Polish community in the UK.
DFDS branding was positioned on the main stage and remained visible throughout the day during live performances and festival activity. The event also gave the client the opportunity to distribute promotional materials and speak directly to attendees.
Across the retainer, 2Sisters PR supported DFDS with ongoing community marketing, sponsorship activity, translations, social media support, promotional ideas, leaflet distribution and grassroots outreach.
The work helped strengthen DFDS’ visibility within the Polish community in the UK and led to a successful five-year partnership.
