o2 World Chat

O2 World Chat PR & Localisation Case Study

O2 World Chat was a free mobile application developed by O2, allowing users in the UK to make low-cost calls from as little as 1p per minute.

Available across UK mobile networks, the app was designed to help people stay connected with friends and family abroad, making it especially relevant to international communities living in the UK.

Objective

Our objective was to raise awareness of O2 World Chat among Polish communities in the United Kingdom and communicate the benefits of the app to people who regularly made calls.

The campaign focused on reaching Polish audiences in a clear, familiar and culturally relevant way.

Campaign

2Sisters PR delivered a full promotional campaign combining PR, digital marketing, online and offline advertising, localisation and community outreach.

Our work included adapting brand materials for Polish consumers, translating the app and official website, writing localised copy, adapting the official World Chat video and designing banners and leaflets with messaging tailored to the target audience.

We promoted the app through Facebook, YouTube, Polish websites, Polish shops, in-store TV screens, leaflet distribution, email marketing and door-to-door leafleting. We also managed promotional stalls, media buying, sponsorship opportunities and PR outreach.

As part of the campaign, we secured press coverage, sponsored articles and community-focused promotional opportunities, helping O2 World Chat reach Polish audiences through both digital and grassroots activity.

Results

The campaign reached tens of thousands of potential customers and significantly increased awareness of O2 World Chat among Polish communities in the UK.

2Sisters PR secured coverage in prominent Polish media outlets, helping communicate the app’s benefits to the right audience and supporting O2’s wider customer acquisition goals.
